About the Doctor

Dr. Horbaly has practiced orthodontics in Charlottesville since 1996 with satellite offices located in Palmyra and Dillwyn. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his doctorate degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Horbaly completed a general practice residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, California and two additional tours with the Seabees.  Dr. Horbaly earned his master’s degree and specialty certification in pediatric dentistry from the Columbus Children’s Hospital and Ohio State University and earned a master’s degree and specialty certification in orthodontics from the University of Pittsburgh.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Horbaly is an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Virginia Health Systems Department of Dentistry where he mentors dental residents and is a member of the University’s Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team. At his University clinic, Dr. Horbaly provides orthodontic services for cleft lip and palate patients, patients with craniofacial disorders and medically compromised patients.

Dr. Horbaly is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Dental Association and the Medical College of Virginia Research and Education Foundation.

Horbaly Family

Dr. Horbaly is married with two children. He enjoys playing basketball, lifting weights, fishing and working in his yard. He also enjoys coaching youth basketball.
